She started learning about fitness and proper nutrition at age 13 when she realized she wanted to live a life filled with energy and happiness. She is inspired by women like Jillian Michaels (as well as her own Mom) who, like herself, overcame an obese childhood to live a fit, healthy adult life. She spent 20 years in the Air Force and during many of those years served as a Physical Training Lead for her work centers. She also taught step aerobics while deployed in Southwest Asia. She retired from active duty in 2014, and now teaches FUN Kettlebell AMPD and step aerobics classes, as well as other varieties of fitness classes.
