Class Descriptions

strong  Strong by Zumba®

STRONG by Zumba is the first non-dance based class from the fitness brand that uses music as the main motivator. It revolves around high-intensity interval training, but still focuses on moving to the beat. After the warm-up, the workout is divided into four quadrants starting with Q1 which focuses on prepping your body for the workout by raising your heart rate with bodyweight exercises and moves like jumping jacks. Q2 incorporates more plyometrics easing into Q3 which is high intensity. Q4 is core work on the floor. There is active recovery between the quadrants and a long, stretching cooldown. $8

Kettlebell elevates the heart rate for effective cardiovascular training using ballistic swinging movements and utilizing other whole body exercises as well as more traditional presses and squats. Our instructors teach safety and proper form first and foremost. The intensity of the class can be modified by using different sizes of kettlebells so beginners and those with experience can participate in the same class. Kettlebell will build long lean muscles, improve strength and power in the upper body, core and lower body and increase coordination, joint mobility, and overall endurance.

    • PiYo is the techniques of Pilates and Yoga. You move constantly through Pilates and Yoga poses, workong and toning the whole body, especially the core. It’s non-impact and goes to music.

After Dark is dance fitness, similar to Zumba but with all popular songs from the radio!

    • Butts and Guts on Wednesdays at 5:30 is a non-impact, full body strength training workout with weights. The Kettlebell class on Mondays at 5:30 is as well, but it also includes cardio exercises. Strong by Zumba uses high intensity cardio and body weight exercises to tone and strengthen like no other workout you’ve ever experienced. 🙂 Bootcamp can go either way but usually includes both cardio and strength training i.e. flipping tires, etc.
